1. Describe the skills or attributes you believe are necessary to be an outstanding teacher.
The most important ability is being able to understand and adapt to the individual needs of each for of the students in the classroom. As an educator, it is crucial to develop a bond with each child and understand the student’s family, cultural background, and interests. As a result, caring for and knowing each student will help me adjust lessons to make them appealing to both individuals and the class. In doing this, it will help each student feel welcome and at home in the classroom. With this though, there is an emphasis on the importance of patience. Some days will be more challenging than others, but the next day will always bring a chance to start fresh.
2. How would you address a wide range of skills and abilities in your classroom?
Each classroom is comprised of a wide range of students that have different skills and personalities. Lessons can be built differently for each class and should always be adjusted to make the best educational experience for each class. I also wanted to be able to help as many people that I could. Being an educator and helping so many students grow and develop was the best career I could imagine. I may only have a student in my classroom for one year but I hope that those few months I can help each student as much as possible on their educational journey. I hope that my time with each student will help them develop the life skills they will need to become a great citizen not only to our town but to the world.
