There comes a time in life when we all have to make certain decisions. For me, I was one of those fortunate people who was given the chance to make a decision by my parents. This decision was regarding furthering my education after graduating from pre-university program. It’s usually rare among the Bangladeshi families to let their children decide for themselves about studying abroad. I consider myself lucky because, if it wasn’t for my beloved parents who have agreed with my decision and supported me throughout the whole process, I wouldn’t be able to step in the United States of America today in order to earn my degree, as I’ve dreamt of doing for a long time. I’ve always wanted to come to America and I am more than happy to be here, but to leave my entire family and friends behind was probably one of the most difficult things to do.
Among the several different reasons I decided to earn my undergraduate degree in America, the most important one was to get the best quality of education. I am an ambitious person and I want to build myself from the bottom and work my way up in this world. Like my father always said, “Education is the key to success”. I live by this quote because I feel like in reality if a person really wants to achieve something great in life or become someone who is worthy they need to learn, gain knowledge, make themselves educated enough to compete the other intelligent individuals in this world in order to thrive.
