Summary Response In “No Name Woman” Kingston story is about the unnamed woman who killed herself and her baby by jumping into the water in well at China. The Unnamed Woman was accused of child being born after the rape because her husband was out of the country while that happen. When the baby was born, the people from that places destroyed her house making their family miserable and nowhere to live which actually made her lose the family trust because of what she did. The author mother tells her that back in the old day around in China no matter what you do it will reflect on your family which make her not allow to ask name for the unnamed aunt which had. So, then she decided to make her own fantasies about how her aunt was raped rather than thinking like that she uses that her aunt harbors a slowly tending to her appearance. The author believes the reason to kill herself and her child was because she did not want her child to live with miserable live telling by other people of how the child was born and how unlucky he or she is.

The family is very important in Chinese society and Asian society as whole because if one does a bad deed then, it will affect the whole family which will make them embarrassed. The way I interpret the mother kill herself the baby because she did not want the baby to live with the situation that he or she was born from the mother being raped. She did not want her child to live in the situation where her family could not even support her. The articles, “Sixty-Nine-Cents” commonly relate to my family as of right now. Just like the author, my family was immigrated over here where I had to learn how to talk in certain and behave.
