College Essay I was born in a small suburban town, Chepen, in Peru. I came here when I was 4 years old in 2004. My parents went through a long process to move to the United States of America. One night in Chepen, my parents invited their friends over for dinner. During the dinner, a conversation was brought up about the U.S. Government giving away 5 green cards in a lottery. My parents applied and sent the application form to the United States government, however they did not think they were going to win. They received a card from the United States government saying that they got their application and were eligible contestants. My parents were then interviewed by the Peruvian embassy; my family and I were all there while my parents took care of the interview and they handed in the paperwork. They told us we got the visas and had six months to move out of Peru to the United States. The life my parents have built for my siblings and I is incredible and I am forever grateful for them and their
