I went on a trip this prior summer, going into it with limited to no information or background knowledge on Lake Ross. My knowledge did not expand far on this area, but I have always loved to explore new places. I decided to conquer that quest by going on adventure with a close friend of mine and her family.

My vision cleared up and focused on the large boat in front me. I quickly grabbed my baggage and headed onto the boat. The journey did not stop there. We then took a tractor up a mountain where we disembarked at the lake near the Northern Cascades, close to Canada. There we took an additional boat, though smaller, to get to our destination, Lake Ross. During this trip I did not look at my phone and noticed how much better it is to live in the present rather than looking at my phone screen.
This trip, only three days, changed my perspective. Technology was not part of my life during these three days. I learned that it is easy to be consumed by electronics in this digital age. Instead of being distracted by social media, I began noticing things that I didn’t notice before. The vibrant colors and the smell of the air were all things I took note of that I wouldn’t have paid attention to back home.
At Lake Ross there were waterfalls and cliffs that were so perfectly formed I could’ve sworn God must have forged them. The location was isolated and surrounded by large mountains. The water was freezing and the sunsets were
