Personal Narrative: Lake Ramsey

Decent Essays
I was five when I swam out into Lake Ramsey. The water was a warm brown, as with most water in Louisiana. This was was not the first time I had gone to Ramsey, but this time, it was for a specific purpose. I was going to learn how to ski and my grandfather was going to teach me. This would be the start of the lessons he, as my mentor, would teach me.
My grandfather still helped me through some of the more difficult times in my life. The best example of this is when I had just failed a test. This was the first one I ever had failed, and I was beside myself. He took me aside and we talked. We talked and talked, and he told me how to hold my head high, how to walk the straight and narrow. He taught me some of the most valuable life lessons I have.

There is a place‒ a place in which my heart lightens at the memory of. This is a place where everything seems too perfect, and where I learned of a concept called acatalepsy: the idea that it is truly impossible to understand anything.
