I opened my eyes and I tore the covers off like wrapping paper on a Christmas present. The pictures a blur as I race my brother for the hot morning waffles.I always know when to come out of my bed when my mom sings her battle cry of “ COME GET ‘EM WHILE THEY’RE HOT AND READY!” As I come down Mitchell is already halfway out the door with two waffles in his mouth like a dog.
“Bye mom, I can’t be late again today,” Mitchell says in a hurry.
“Bye Mitchy have a good day at work,” My mom says as Mitchell’s face turns into a tomato.
I fill my plate with waffles and almost burn my hand trying to pick one up.
“Did you sleep well last night,” my mom said trying to start a conversation.
“Well, all the way up until the middle of the night,” I explained to my mom.

Why does this always happen to me? My mom doesn’t even have to work, because of that one night, the first time it ever happened. We still get money from the accident, in fact. The helicopter accident off the coast of Maui in our vacation to Hawaii. The blue below us was probably the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. The clear waters with the beautiful reefs and exotic fish. The helicopter pilot said it was probably the most beautiful day that he had ever seen. He was so mesmerized by it, that he lost control, and the helicopter crashed. There were only 2 parachutes, and at that time I was only a small child. My dad and the pilot couldn’t survive.
Late that night, after my homework was done,I heard a loud crash from the garage. I tiptoed quietly as to not wake up my mom and my brother. The door creaked behind me and I moved boxes and slithered my way around the old garage until I saw a raccoon and Mitchell’s bike on its side. I chased that raccoon and tripped over a box that shone in my face. As I opened the box, my mind wandered on how it could be in here. The letter on the top
