Performance appraisal as an element of PM, it is also important. Appraisal is “a process that provides an analysis of a person’s overall capabilities & potential, allowing informed decisions to be made for particular purposes” (Gold 2007:284). In order to make performance management more effectively like improving motivation, managing career and setting goals, it is necessary to take some actions. From external condition, for the sake of making performance management efficiently to improve organisational performance, there is a suitable way to choose a successful firm and then learn from it. By looking at the performance management system of these successful companies, we might gain better understanding about how to make the firm be more efficiency. …show more content…
However, there are someone had a prejudice against their managers, so they might give negative feedback intentionally. Customer satisfaction is a vital aspect. It is the result of affective evaluation. The organization produces a number of goods in order to meet customer’s need, so customers’ assessment paly an important role. Team-based appraisal is a core context of performance appraisal; it is an assessment for the result of the task. It could directly illustrate the value of team contributing to the organization. Competency-based appraisal is a method that based on competency. Competency refers to an individual’s capability and used in a certain task. A competency-based approach offers methods in accordance to these objectives and focuses on the ability to apply knowledge and skills in real life, and performance’s outcomes or competencies has become a criteria for assessing learners and training programs (Falender & Shafranske, 2004). Training as crucial components in the whole process of implementation act a key role. Each organization should have Training Needs Assessment; it is a check on the skills, talent and capabilities, the data could find out the data and looking at organizational demand for skills. Starting to train employees, Training Needs Assessment plays an important role. It could realize whether the employees need to be trained, then the fund will not be wasted if the employees can meet customers’ needs and do not need to train. Making sure the right training is done is extremely significant. It could recognize the learning needs of the population. If the employees are quite excellent, Training Needs Assessment is also useful for retain them. There is a model called SOAP-M, this model is useful for training and coaching evaluation, with a further level available for normal researchers. The five levels are Self, Other, Achievements, Potential and Meta-analysis.
