Metropolitan University Training Needs Assessment for Signature Designer Services Competition has become very competitive and it is affecting delivery services in the metro area today. Because consumers have many choices; the marketplace has become very competitive. Companies have to be innovative and make changes in order to compete and satisfy customer’s needs. Training can be a costly expense particularly for small companies. Many of these type companies can’t afford to waste time or money associated with training. My goal in collecting this data is to define the gap between a job requirement and the employee’s actual skill or knowledge. Methods to conduct needs assessment will be interviews and knowledge tests. Interviews are good at uncovering g details of training needs, as well as causes of and solutions to problems. Also questions can be modified (Noe, 2013). Some disadvantages to this type of needs assessments are that is labor intensive and sometimes difficult to analyze. Knowledge tests are beneficial in helping trainers identify what to include in a knowledge-based program. The advantage to the test is that it measures knowledge versus attitude. The data collected to determine the need of training was from CEO and interviewing employees. Main concerns were high overhead in terms of overtime due to misplacing furniture in the warehouse. CEO understands and agrees that this training is needed to lower overhead; have better communication with warehouse and truck driver; and reduce drastically her overhead.
