Summary

The internship follows the lives of two recently unemployed salesmen Billy Mcmahon and Nick Campbell who apply for the summer intern at google. They get accepted and are teamed up with “the rejects” Stuart with sarcastic comments and on his phone all the time, Yo-Yo who is timid , Neha the girl who talks a lot enthusiastic about anything geek related and Lyle the guy who tries too hard to fit in. They are expected to compete against other teams in order to win a position working for google and in order to do that they would have to work as a team during challenges such as finding a bug, quidditch, designing a new app, man the helpline and lastly the sales challenge. It leads to improvement and adds to a new perspective. this helps the team become more productive as they work together and come up with solutions. The second form of conflict would be dysfunctional which is aggressive as people do not fish to work together as a team in order to achieve a certain goal and therefore the task is compromised. This can lead to a poor working environment and resentment in the work place.
An example of dysfunctional conflict would be in the scene during the first challenge they have find the bug and because the team thinks Billy and Nick are slowing them down they send them to the university and tell to find a professor in a wheelchair and call him professor Xavier. A good leader would communicate the results, rules and rewards. There are three main categories of management style with are Laissez faire meaning no interference. Therefore the manager will inform the employees of what must be done but would not get involved in the how the task is achieved. Transactional which emphasises the social exchange that occurs between the leader and employees. Transformational which means focusing of the leaders approach so that employees are motivated through what they can get and what they can achieve together. one could say that Lyles form of leadership is transformational as he prefers to stay in the background and only interact when needed but does not tell the rest of his team what they must do just helped them reach their full potential. the last example would be during the quidditch challenge Billy takes charger after he sees how frustrated and unmotivated his team mates are after the first half, so he decides to give a motivational speech with helps encourage them to work as a team have end up playing a lot better in the second half and actually having
