The enterprise that they apply to be interns for: Google, values creativity as one of their main values. We can see this from their organisational culture and the structure of the business itself(also the brightly coloured buildings and furniture support this). Billy and Nick got the opportunity to be an intern at Google because of their unique and different answers. Creativity is all about being different, unique and thinking out the box. Google strives for this type of thinking as we learn this as the types of tasks they were giving their interns. One of their tasks required the interns to decode a program and find the bug. This involved a lot of working and Billy and Nick were hampering their progress, so as a quick strategy they sent them to go look for someone that doesn't exist. This was very unethical but it did help improve their progress. There are many other problem solving techniques that could have been used however time was an issue, so they had to implement this quick, on the spot strategy. Being tasked to create an app was another example of how creativity is important. Bill and Nick firstly thought of the obvious for ideas for the app, by brainstorming through many ideas that have been used. Also, the problems faced give us an overview of what real problems a business can face. It shows us how leadership and team work can contribute to success. It gives us an understanding of how these components can effect a business in a real life

These elements are described through first-hand accounts; for example, the interns at Disney World and the government interns on Capitol Hills. These elements are also described through in-depth investigation; for example, the 18 percent of interns who work without pay or the evidence of companies and government organizations firing full-time paid staff and replacing them with…
