One metaphor was “Culture in a snowflake”. To me this metaphor means culture is unique when you take a closer look at it. Each individual in a workplace brings a part of their own culture into their organization. Ally is the type of worker who likes to be efficient and get tasks done quickly. Whereas Carrie is the type of employee who would rather be doing bookkeeping or invoices rather than hands on tasks with customers. I have worked with these two employees for over a year and observed how they interact with each other. When Ally needs someone to help her with a task that is very hands on Carrie would avoid it as much as possible. To me this creates a complicated culture in an organization. The other metaphor that I believe relates to this conflict is “peacefulness is a balance in a workplace”. To an outsider they may see a department in an organization that is full of beauty because all of the employees are working as one cohesive unit. However, to the employees’ perspective it is full conflict between fellow coworkers. In short, there will be some conflict however it balances out with the peace others observe. In this scenario, just because two people were in conflict and eventually got it involved with other employees there was still the peacefulness of one unified group of …show more content…
The three that I believe relate to this conflict was the Nubians, the La Pazians and the Mardu. In the Nubian community, the most damaging form of conflict was disagreements and fights between family members. Issues, for example, disagreement over resources, differing ideas over repairs of objects with shared ownership, or conflict over the division of labor and the food production are some of the main triggers that have been known to have impact on family dynamics. At the organization I work at we consider each employee as a part of a family. There are often times like the one that recently occurred that can cause divisions and dysfunctions in the work environment. Employees will often take sides, or even affect how employees now work with each other. In the situation that occurred at my workplace, Ally would have conversations with other employees about how they would have handled the situation. After realizing how Carrier reacted everyone though she was overreacting. Carrie, on the other hand had no one on her side. She felt as though all the employees betrayed
