Diversity in organizations is necessary to receive creative results with contribution of all ideas. When asked, the two companies had slight differences in their opinions. Shane stated that “they hire international students from everywhere to keep a balanced environment at his workplace” (Shane King). This puts all sorts of different perspectives on the table and makes it easier when considering how to execute a plan. This would also add to the company’s reputation which would attract other students. “Job seekers are drawn to companies with diverse workforces because it is evident that the companies do not practice employment discrimination.” (Johnson, 2016) One of their major benefits is that it helps them to expand their business internationally; “My clients are doing business all over the world, for example; United States, China, Serbia” (Shane King). “A diverse collection of skills and experiences allows a company to provide service to customers on a global basis.” (Greenberg, 2004)
On the other hand, Brandon believes that “all types of diversity are beneficial for every company though what stands out is individual skills, for example language skills. If the cultural context is being understood, cultural diversity is not that significant” (Brandon Hastings). To our understanding what Brandon was pointing out is that you don’t need to be from a specific culture to understand the cultures’ values and behaviour.
