Throughout this course we have learned about different models and techniques for managing others at work. We’ve also developed an understanding of varying ways to develop relationships with people and dissolve conflicts at work. Now it’s my turn to take this knowledge and combine it with biblical truths to create a biblical model for glorifying God in our everyday work experience. While thinking about what would best emulate Christ in the work place most effectively I came up with four key principles that are founded in biblical truths. The concepts I thought of are “Work Hard”, “Be Good Stewards”, “Show Understanding Towards Others”, and finally Display Love In Everything We Do.” The first principle I thought of is that we as Christians should “Work Hard”. This may seem pretty basic; but when we look at our lives how often do we just go through the motions of work and not really put forth the effort. In Proverbs 13:11 the Bible says, “Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.” This means that wealth isn’t going to just appear overnight. God will justly rewards those who continually make consistent acts of hard work and will punish those who try to rush and cheat there way to riches. As Christians this is huge because we shouldn’t be concerned with the riches of this world.
