Palm Beach State University Scholarship Essay

I am attending Palm Beach State College because I want to expand my knowledge about what the world must offer. I believe that coming into college will help me understand social and basic skills needed for life afar. Also, I am in college because I am the first generation in my family to do so. What excites me the most about being in college, is all the opportunities I have available to me after all my hard work. I feel that being in a new environment surrounded by people who want to achieve success, as I do, will take me to where I want to be. Having the right people around you in college, is the best thing you can do. I am also excited about being on my own to push myself harder than I have before. I am currently flourishing to be a behavioral analyst for the BAU/FBI. I imagine myself interrogating murder/homicide suspects to close cases of many victims around the world. Double majoring isn’t ideal for most college students, but I’ve decided to take a more challenging approach; I’m majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Being organized helps me in many ways, one being that I know exactly where to look for a specific subject. Although I have strengths, I also have some weaknesses. One of my weaknesses, is being a procrastinator. Leaving things such as: homework, studying, and classwork for last minute is the worst thing you can do as a college student. I also don’t manage my time very well and I rarely go out of my way to meet up with my classmates for homework help or anything of that matter. I would rather work and figure things out on my own, but there are sometimes where you need to ask for somebody else’s
