Comparison of three advertising in three different cultures
Intercultural Communication is important in order to understand different ways of communication but as well to be able to communicate with and among other cultures. There is another important thing that intercultural communication brings us and that is that marketers if they know the intercultural communication well enough verbally and nonverbally, they will be able to market and advertise a brand not only in one culture but in many different ones. As the Coca Cola company has done very well in the past years, that is why it will be the central brand of the comparison of three advertizing in three different cultures.

The Coca Cola company is the world’s biggest drink company. The fact that Coca Cola has been able to gain that much market it suggests that their advertising has been able to gain acquaintance in a lot of cultures, therefore understand the wants and the needs of each market in different cultures. The three advertising we will analyze will all be print and the cultures we will advertize are first of all the Chinese culture, is often rooted into social reflections, which is that the population is often pull in by advertizing thanks to Chinese rhetorical tradition drawn from spirituality and philosophy(Intercultural Communication). This year Coca Cola has chosen to advertize Coca Cola through three new mascots that each represents something special for the Chinese Culture (picture 1), we can see that each of these two human babies have something written on their stomach that probably represents something unique. The fact that only the Chinese can understand the meaning of the sayings suggests strongly that the advertisers aimed this campaign only at them. We can observe the main colours of the advertising which is mainly red and yellow and Red. After researching the meaning of the colours we can now understand why these two colours were chosen, the yellow means loyalty and the red colour represents the communist revolution but as well simply the main colour of China as for the flag for example. Many people got separated some of them had to travel back to India or to Pakistan and therefore they could not see each other for a long time, they lost contact because of these difficult circumstances. Coca Cola’s advertising aimed at the emotional aspect of this historical event that only the population of these two countries could know.
Coca Cola Advertising called Reunion In this advertising we see the cultural aspect of both India and Pakistan that seem very similar, we do not see many differences a part the fact that they are separated. We can see that Coca Cola has chosen to unite these two countries in one way or another using the cultural and historical background of these two countries.
They have as well used print where two images combined form a single face, but one half is from India and the second one is from Pakistan. We can understand the context of these advertising after researching their culture and their history, but before once has done we cannot fully comprehend with the emotional connection that a Pakistani or Indian feel about these
