I chose to attend a community college for three main reasons: affordability, location, and small classes. Right out of high school I started college at a public, four-year college, University of River Falls; I had to drop out a month in due to medical issues. At that time I was unaware that I could make a medical appeal and get a full refund, so when I tried college again I was over a thousand dollars in debt from my first attempt. I’m on disability, so my income is limited and I can’t work that many hours. The location of my current community college, St. Cloud Technical and Community College, is right by most of my doctors, so the location is a great fit for me.
