Free Community College Persuasive Analysis

In the article “As he promotes it,Some question Obama’s Free Community College Idea” by Joanne Jacobs we learn about the pros and cons there is to having a community college free.In the article we learn about the good things in having a free community college as well as the negative parts of it. Although there is many opinions to both sides my opinion and the side I am choosing is that a community college should not be free. I believe a community college shouldn’t be free because it's unfair for those who attend a 4 year university and have to pay the double amount of what a community college is normally. A crowded college “will end up with long waiting list” said Siqueiros. If a community college becomes overcrowded it just makes it difficult for the faculty to control the school, for the professors to teach properly and for the students to focus and learn. A community college is all about setting a student to success. Leading them to success after probably not having been able to in high school or also giving them a boost of help to manage time, and with a free and overcrowded school these things might be difficult to achieve. It’s unfair for students who are well off and have money to take up the spots at a community college when poor low income students can barely afford it. “One population ends up pushing out anther” said Siqueiros. A community college is mainly for those students who cant afford a four year university right after high school as well as those who don’t have the best grades. Therefore if he students who are able to attend a four year prefer to attend a community because its free its just affecting the learning abilities of the students.lowering the price or making it free “can nudge students to attend lower-quality
