Cost is a huge difference between the two. “One may be skeptical on the expense of attending a four year college.’’ (Belfield, Bailey) This factor could possibly be the main reason people choose community college over a four year university. Not only is cost a huge factor but also the environment. Community colleges have smaller campuses and class sizes. These two characteristics may also determine whether a student may choose a two or four year college. Four year universities come with larger classes, bigger campuses, and many more clubs and organizations. “People and resources of the campus can affect the college experience.’’ (Fonte)
Both community college and a four year university can prepare one for the future. These two types of colleges both have many options and opportunities to help students succeed. The four year experience is definitely a better route for students looking to earn higher degrees. Although, neither college is a bad choice it all depends on the student and what they desire to
