College is Not a Waste

In the essay, “College is a Waste of Time and Money,” author, Caroline Bird states how college is not a good option for people. Bird says students are not being prepared for their jobs, aren 't guaranteed a better salary after college, and many more reasons why college isn 't important. Not everyone belongs in college, I agree, but it does have its benefits. I believe college is absolutely not a waste of money and time. It is expensive, but it returns so much more after it. It 's a great place to gain more than just knowledge. College can help you earn more money, land a job faster, and help find a job you enjoy. Since I was a young girl, all I heard was friends and family say, “go to college, you 'll have more money than those that don 't.” This is partially still true, education

They end up getting a job in whatever place they get hired even if they hate it. They also are unhappy because the salary might not be enough for expenses. In college you get the benefit of finding something you enjoy. There are many unique classes in college that are not offered in high schools. Most college students on their first year take a few random classes to see if they enjoy any of them. Some students find a class they did not know they enjoyed, they then pursue a career in it. Pursuing a career on something you love, makes the rest of your future go by smoother and more enjoyable. People that don 't go to college most of the time don 't know there is careers in more areas than just the usual that are mentioned. Not all people agree that happiness is better than a higher salary, but it truly makes a difference. For example, not liking your own job can later on lead to being fired from it. There is a greater chance to be fired because the person doesn 't give it their best and doesn 't take it
