If a viewer doesn’t like Katniss’ personality, they would still enjoy the film, but would be extremely unlikely to enjoy the books. These scenes move the plot forward very well, and are entertaining. One example of this takes place before Katniss is reaped for the second time. In this part of the story, the viewer gets to see President Snow as the manipulative genius that he is. He teaches Plutarch about controlling people using fear, while Plutarch makes his plans for the Games. Then, they both work together to think of a way to deal with Katniss and stop the rebellion. This wonderful scene is nowhere to be found in the novel, as the reader never leaves Katniss. Thus, the switch from third person limited to third person omniscient made by Catching Fire was appropriate for the movie, and was certainly entertaining, but took away some of the scenes that gave the novel the mood that it
