It is clear that the book is informative mainly because it’s in first person and since it is in first person, it's overflowing with informative detail about Katnissś feelings. For example, the scene where Peeta threw the bread out to the pigs because he burnt it, it says “His mother was yelling, “Feed it to the pig, you stupid creature! Why not? In both the movie and the book there are scenes where descriptions are short and subtle. Like the scene where all the tributes were being scored. The book’s description of the scene was just as short as the movies. So the detailing of Katniss’s feelings were more informing than entertaining because it was written in first person. This scene is in fact entertaining. The lack of detail is more entertaining since it's less for the brain to take in and process. Even though there are a few scenes that are brief, the amount of detailed, informing scenes outweigh the entertaining ones. Since the book is detailed so thoroughly, more information means more brain work. Meaning it’s less entertainment and more processing. Some people might say, both the book and the movie are to entertain, but they’re wrong. The book is to Inform and the movie is to entertain. First person narratives are always packed full with detail and are more informative, the book proves this conclusion. The movie is in 3rd person, it’s less detailed and is more entertaining and relaxed when it comes to
