Democratic Leadership Styles

The dominant leadership styles practiced at Caribbean Broilers is Democratic. The Democratic Leadership Style consists of the leaders sharing the decision-making abilities with group members by promoting the interest of the group members and by practicing social equality.
This is an open approach to leading, where decision making is shared and the view of a team is shared and the views of a team or group are valued and contribute to the vision, goal and decision that are made. Ideas move freely among the group and are discussed openly. This democratic leadership encourages people to share their ideas and then synthesizing all the available information into the best possible decision.

Two of the key functional area that contributes to the effective organizational goal setting is Human Resource Department and Field Department. One of the objectives of Caribbean Broilers is to ensure employees are working one hundred percent of the time on things that move forward the goal of the organization.
The Human Resource Department knows how to ensure that all employees in on the same page and in alignment with the organization goal. They also ensure consistency by establishing standards and then monitoring the goals that are created to ensure they are consistent with organization guidelines.
Another way is which the Human Resource Department can contribute to the effectiveness of the organization goal setting is holding everyone accountable. Prior to starting working at Caribbean Broilers, employees are trained and developed in their specific work area to meet the requirements of that particular position, therefore the department holds everyone accountable. Ensure deadline are met with accuracy, hold employees to dates and deliveries, even though they may encounter unexpected events, the Human Resource Department must work closely with all the department heads to prevent a culture of “settling” where complacency becomes a

“It is assigning responsibilities and authority to someone in order to complete a clearly defined and agreed upon task while you retain ultimate responsibility for its success. Delegation incorporates empowering your teammates through effective leadership, and may be directed in any direction and used in any organization” (K. Chul. 2000)
Delegation is important to the leaders of Caribbean Broiler as they are able to divide the work and allocate it to the subordinates which reduce workloads. It limited the time taken to accomplish a task as this result in the amount of work that can be done within the working hours. Delegation helps management to know the potential of their works and the possibility for promotion exercise. They delegate based on plan tasked to be carried out daily operation at different departments.
As stated in an interview with a representative of the organization, who holds a leadership position, he held that on numerous occasion he had to delegate work to employee under his leadership as he is overwhelmed at times with the amount of work needs to get done based on time limit and accuracy.
