Explain Why I Want To Be A Pediatrician

I would say I’m the same person I was a year ago, with some minor changes. Now, I’m a little more goal oriented. Not that I wasn 't goal oriented before, but since it’s my senior year, I know that the real world is right around the corner and I have made some preparations for it. I am still the same in the sense that I still work hard in school, hard on the track, and have an overall positive outlook on life. Five years ago, I had my mind set on being a pediatrician. Fast forward five years and now I want to become an orthopedic surgeon. Being in college, specifically taking kinesiology classes, has changed my view on what I want to do in life. My parents treated me accordingly. As I got older, they gave me more freedom. Responsibilities came along too. I definitely noticed a change in how my coach treated me from when I was a “newbie” on the team to the present. It started off as me being in the shadows to being a leader on the team. There has been times when my coach spoke to me one-on-one and explained his expectations of me. Although he did place pressure on me, it felt good knowing that he thought highly of me and expected me to lead by example. My coach treated me differently because he saw the potential in me and we also grew to know each other better and better as each year passed by. It’s hard to say who has treated me the most different, but if I had to chose someone, I would say my parents. They’ve know me my whole life and have high expectations for me as any other parent would. They know my potential and know when I’m slacking off a bit. Also, I have a younger brother so my parents want me to be the best role model I can possibly be. They also try to steer me in the right direction without being too hard on me in hopes that I won’t make the same mistakes they
