Personal Career Analysis: Physicians Assistant For my career research paper I chose the job of a Physician assistant. Physician Assistants, are basically medical providers. They diagnose, and treat illness and diseases so that they can prescribe medicine for the patient's. PA's also do other jobs such as counsel patients and their families based upon the patients condition. Physician assistants can practice their work in at least three different places. Such as physician offices, hospitals, and clinics that are in connection with licensed physicians. Applicants who go into this field are required or some times already have health care experience as either a registered nurse, EMT, or paramedic. Another thing required is 2-4 years of undergraduate course work in science or some programs offer healthcare ethics, statistics, quantitative methods, and medical terminology (Learn how to become.Org). After earning your bachelors degree you go on to earn your masters degree with an accredited educational program.the program you're in should have studies that include classroom and laboratory instruction in pathology, human anatomy, physiology, clinical medication, etc. The physicians assistant education program that is required to take, takes you 2 years of full time study. According to (OOH) in 2014 " There were about 200 education programs that were accredited through Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA)". After receiving these two degrees, you will move on ,to pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying exam (PANCE), from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); to become certified and licensed. (OOH, and Lear how to become.org) I plan on meeting these requirements by finding the best programs, that can work with me to succeed. The overall growth average being represented is supposed to be thirty percent between the years 2014-2024. Its expected to rise because the growing and aging the population. Many predict that this will be the cause for more health care services to be used, because there will be more humans in he world by the time year 2024 comes. Which means people are going to need more medical attention. People with diseases will need more assistance from the physicians because those are the ones who will actively be able to treat them to prevent further illness to occur. Many people, who have medical insurance are going to be forced to pay more, due to the federal health insurance reform. This job is really going to be able to provide more help to its patients, as the population continues to grow.
