There's always certain people in life that tell you goals are important. They start asking why people set goals for themselves if they already know it's too hard or impossible to achieve. I always believed the same thing. I never thought goals were important till I started growing up and set some goals for myself. I feel people set goals for themselves because they want something to work harder for,with goals they can motivate themselves to do better and do the best they can to achieve their goals. Every person has at least one goal they want to achieve. It might be a personal, academic, or career goal. My personal goals are to promote with honors and attend a four year university. My family and I both want me to succeed,so I want to achieve as much as I can and make them proud. My academic goals are to go to college, promote with a 4.0 from junior high, graduate from high school, and maybe be a doctor in the future. These are the goals I’m trying to make happen. I will need to stay motivated and push myself to achieve these goals. As you know, I’m an avid student and ever since I’ve been in this program I’ve gained so much knowledge and its helped me achieve my goals as well as teaching me new things I never knew. Avid has taught me about college and what to expect. Before, this program I didn't really know anything, but after they brought guest speakers they have shown me how much college cost and what majors are really fun.Teachers have taught me how to write cornell notes and how to do TRF forms and even taught me how to do scholarships! Truth is without avid I wouldn't know where to begin to achieve my goals. If there’s anything I’ve learned from these past few years is that you can achieve your goals. It might be hard at first, but if you motivate yourself and work hard you can do it. Without, my avid teachers and my family’s support I wouldn't know what to do. I know that these are hard goals, but I believe I can do it, I will do it. I encourage you to set goals for
