Little history was provided by North Carolina officials about Armun’s background. Records indicate Armun was placed on supervised probation on December 10, 2013, for misdemeanor larceny and injury to real property. His probation expired on June 9, 2014. Armun was detained on January 20, 2014, for discharging a weapon into an occupied property. A first appearance hearing was completed by North Carolina officials on January 23, 2014, as well as a secure custody hearing. On February 18, 2014, the charges were dismissed. While on probation , Ms. Bandy reported a week prior to him being detained, he was not abiding by his 6 p.m. curfew, he was not going to school, he had jumped out of the window of her 2 story apartment, was punching holes in her wall, and she wanted him out of her home. Armun was also receiving services through Easter Seals (intensive in-home services). It was reported by Easter Seals that Ms. Bandy had asked for an out of home placement, but when the addendum was scheduled to accomplish authorization for the out of home placement, Ms. Bandy did not keep the appointment. Records indicate Armun had been receiving services since July 11, 2013. Armun first became involved in the justice system at age 14. His legal history includes three intake contacts. Armun has had an intake contact for a felony offense. One or more of the intake contacts were for felony offenses against another person. Armun has been placed outside of the home once. He has no history of escape. He has had one juvenile detention confinement. He has been committed to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety once. Armun has had no other contact with any other court service unit in the state of Virginia. His court involvement has been secluded to the state of North Carolina. Records indicate past affiliation with a gang “Folk Nation.” Armun has had one diversion of a simple assault closed in January 2013. Records list at least one charge of injury to personal property perpetrated that was dismissed on September 3, 2013. Discharge a weapon in occupied property was dismissed by prosecutor on February 18, 2014. Armun was committed to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety on August 5, 2014, for the charge of felonious discharge of a weapon in occupied premises. Additional offenses for which Armun was adjudicated include misdemeanor larceny and injury to real property. Armun was admitted to C.A. Dillon Youth Development Center on August 14, 2014. Armun received anger management, individual counseling and substance abuse services during his incarceration. Armun also completed Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) group from May 2015 to August 2015. Armun was released from C.A. Dillon Youth Development Center on April 4, 2016. He remains on parole supervision. Armun was placed on house arrest for 30 days on April 6, 2016. Life Skills Coaching through Positive Pathways started on April 15, 2016 and will end on July 23, 2016. Armun currently lives with his mother and two younger siblings. …show more content…
He was released from C.A. Dillon Youth Development Center to her custody via Interstate Compact for Juveniles. Parole supervision was accepted for Armun prior to his release on February 25, 2016. Ms. Bandy relocated from Princeville, North Carolina to Virginia to provide a safe and better environment for Armun’s return home.

Armun's mother has past alcohol/drug problems, mental health problems and delinquency or criminal record. Armun's father has alcohol/drug problems and delinquency or criminal record. Ms. Bandy did not disclose any information about Armun’s father. She reports he has no relationship with either her or her kids. Ms. Bandy would like not to have him listed in any reports concerning Armun. Ms. Bandy also indicates Armun’s father has drug and alcohol abuse. Prior to Armun’s incarceration, Armun consistently disobeyed his guardian (grandmother). Armun was seldom subject to appropriate consequences for bad behavior and seldom received appropriate rewards for good behavior. His guardian frequently demonstrated inadequate supervision. Nevertheless, his guardian sometimes disapproved of his behavior. Armun's home featured some conflict, but it was well managed.
