Reason Case was accepted for investigation:
On 5/8/17, Hennepin County Child Protection accepted a report of alleged neglect, inadequate supervision of Rainy Darden age 7 months by mother, Jenny Ware. Also, Chronic and severe use of controlled substances by Jenny Ware that adversely affect Rainy Darden. Per reporter on 5/8/17 Ms. Ware arrived to the hospital via EMS after attempting to get methadone from a methadone clinic. Per reporter, Ms. Ware left her daughter Rainy unattended in her car while going into the methadone clinic. Per reporter unsure of how long Rainy was alone in the car. Per reporter arrived to check on Rainy and noted that Ms. Ware was uncooperative, lethargic and unresponsive at times towards EMS personnel. Per reporter unsure of what controlled substances Ms. Ware may be on; urine analysis was submitted but in process of being completed at time of report.

Rainy appeared healthy and sleepy during the appointment. Rainy was with her father at the time of appointment.
Malachi Mehn:
This worker met with Malachi and his aunt Maia at Brookdale office with his aunt Maia. Both reported no concerns with Malachi. Ms. Maia stated that Malachi has been staying with her. She reported that Malachi is eight grade. Ms. Maia reported that her nephew Malachi has unsupervised visit with his mother. She reported that Malachi feels that he is abandoned by both of his parents. Also, she reported that recently Malachi has been struggling with behavior issues in school. Maia reported that in home skills worker will be working with Malachi soon. Ms. Maia was asked about discipline techniques in the home and she stated that she communicates with Malachi and her other children. She reported no other
