The Benefits of Capital Punishment

We are slowly dying every second, minute, hour, month, and year, we are dying. There are 107 deaths in one minute(13 ways at looking at the death penalty). Each minute that passes by someone is murdered. 6,000 killers get away with murder each year in America. Most serial killers suffered child abuse (56 Interesting Facts About Serial Killers). Even as children we are told to treat others how we are treated. So if one kills they only deserve to get what they have done to others. Capital punishment should be legal. We chose to do and say as others do. Then use terrible excuses like there is no other way. Or that’s the cool thing to do. Then by choosing to fallow others we make bad choices and not knowing the consequences deterrence is setting an example. You punish someone to create fear for other people. Just like the people who fallow what people do and say and then find themselves in trouble. If we create this fear and knowledge of consequences we can lower the chances of bad things happening. By creating this fear, or deterrence of the death penalty we can change choices both adults and children make. Ernest Van Den Haag states “People fear nothing more than death. Therefore, nothing will deter a criminal more than the fear of death” (Death Penalty Pro Con). Death is terrifying. With capital punishment comes death. If people know the consequences of their actions could lead to the death penalty then they wouldn’t commit these crimes. They would be forced to make better choices. Our crime rate would drastically go down. We wouldn’t have as many issues. Our world would improve greatly. Along with our prisons. This could stop the murders who are sentences to life in prison to kill again. The fact of capital punishment would strike fear into them. Fear that would keep them from killing while in prison. They are the decision making between right and wrong good or bad. Bruce Fein says that “The death penalty honors human dignity by treating the defendant as a free moral actor able to control his own destiny for good or ill; it does not treat him as an animal with no moral sense.’ (Death Penalty Pro Con). We make our decisions. Murders choose to kill other people. When they are choosing this they are choosing their own death. 32 states in the United State have the death penalty in 2013. They practice capital punishment because it is mortally right. The murder or rapist or whoever made their discussion in this they made the choice to receive their punishment. In todays judicial system we baby the criminal. Its time to change that, The victim in most cases did nothing but be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The victim and their families shouldn’t have to suffer with this. Morals are a decision. Capital punishment is morally correct.
Capital Punishment has many benefits. The death penalty is the practice of an execution. With this execution comes closure for many families. Creates a safe environment inside and out of prison. Capital punishment plays a major purpose in reducing crime as well as serving justice. It should not be abolished. It creates a safe feeling for many people. The death penalty can help in making life long decisions. Knowing what you could face for a consequence. One would make better choices. It is important to keep practice
