The death penalty gives families closure by making them feel safe again. The victim no longer has to worry about the criminal invading their life or their family's life anymore and making them constantly feel worried. If someone kills another human being, they have “taken the life of another, have forfeited their own right to live.” In more serious crimes, the person who commits the crime is usually sent to jail. The victim's family feels traumatized knowing that the perpetrator is still alive and still a danger to society.

The criminal should receive some pain in return for what they have done to others. Even if the death penalty was put to a stop because of the “pain” the criminals receive, other inmates in the prison would give them “what they deserve” for the crime they committed once they find out what they have done. People in prison still have morals, and if an inmate found out that another inmate killed a child and they had a son or daughter, they might get mad and beat him up, stab him,
