Lincoln electric company 's culture is based on openess and trust, shared control and egalitatmrianism. However the company also has subcultures which are people-oriented ,outcome oriented, role modeling, customer service, and reward systems.These culture as well as the influence (beliefs,views towards employees) of the founder J. Lincoln is what contributes to the company 's sucess. Production workers receive merit pay, they are paid according to how many units they produce instead of hourly wages and salaries,hence this is an integral part of the company 's culture. Managers have authority and they must be obey and respected but at the same time they are not dictators, their subordinates are given equal opportunities just like them ,to say out their views and also to come up with the new ideas which help in the day to day running of the company. Everyone is open to give their ideas and these ideas are noted and considered if they are worthy using or not worthy. At Lincoln electric company the influence of the founder still continues, his first pruority where the customers and this culture of customer service is still being practised in the company, hence they produce products to satisfy the customer at good prices. At the plant was a cafeteria which operated 60% of usual costs, thus employees would benefit from buying food at lower cost. The office of Lincoln was not carpeted this shows that Lincoln was not concerned about wasting money on fancy and flashy thing but was more concerned on saving money to reward the employee who would have worked hard for the company to have more profits. Workers at Lincoln electric company work hard inorder to be upgraded, the company advertise internally and they also receive inhouse training this means that an employee foes not only know one type of a job because they are shifted from one line of production to the other, therefore they have an advantage of gaining experience in different areas. Even if they have to work hard with less time for socialising, the workers at Lincoln electric company seems happy, this is because of the incentives they get which are far above other
