Redgate is a professional software development company based in Cambridge that was founded by Neil Davidson and Simon Galbraith in 1999 (Redgate, 1999). Redgate create “ingeniously simple” tools for data professionals and technology professionals worldwide to resolve the technical problems (Redgate, 1999). It also receives several awards since 2007 such as 100 Best Companies to Work For and numerous other awards (Redgate, 1999). Redgate products are being in general use by more than 100,000 companies and around 650,000 IT professionals (Anon., 1999). The company now has more than 280 employees in Cambridge and Pasadena, USA (Redgate, 1999)

At first, the outer layer of Schein’s theory that is artifacts and symbols related to factors within the organization that can be observe and measured. They are observable elements in the organization and also recognizable for other parties (Vliet, 2014). It is easy to accustomed and simple to vary such as logos, architecture, structure, processes and corporate clothing (Vliet, 2014).
Moving on, espoused values related standards, values and rules of conduct (Vliet, 2014). It belongs to medium level of Schein’s three levels. Values are not observable and visible (Tipster, 2013). It related to how they believe work should be completed effectively and to the philosophy or beliefs of the organization and how to deal with situations. In Redgate, employees have no dress code because the founders desire to create a relaxed and comfortable environment for them (Why we love working at redgate, 2013). Redgate also provided some entertainment for employees like table tennis, table football, yoga club and others (Why we love working at redgate, 2013). That is because hygiene factors are the essential needs that can increase employee satisfaction and if they eliminate would certainly result in lack of motivation by employees (Gupta, 2011). Employees can be externally motivated through salary increment, designation, job security, physical work environment and safety, paid leaves and others (Gupta, 2011).
Redgate understand this theory and elaborate plot some kind of benefits package that they believe their employees will be satisfied and be motivated (Redgate, 1999). The benefits package is include all of the usual benefits like annual profit share bonus, pension, life insurance, free parking, health, dental vision insurance and free weekly lunch (Redgate, 1999). There are also some unusual benefits like 20 days vacation and six week paid sabbatical every five years (Redgate, 1999). But the biggest benefit of all is the amazing working atmosphere. Redgate company core hours are 11am to 3pm and dress whatever you like to work (Redgate, 1999). Employees will have flexible time and comfortable environment to work.
