In spite of the debate over state and national standards reform efforts, it is universally agreed by educators and experts that a key component of improving student achievement is raising standards. In the 1996 National Education Summit, state governors, education leaders, and business leaders came to a consensus that use of standards will, it helps all students learn more by demanding higher student proficiency and providing effective methods to help students achieve high standards; It Provide parents, schools, and communities with an unprecedented opportunity to debate and reach agreement on what students should know and be able to do. Here, I will discuss the main disadvantages of formal leaderships. The common disadvantages can be listed as follows:
The formal leadership may have the communication barriers to one leadership to another. As in a formal leadership, a task needs the co-ordination of different departments so communication needs to clear in this process. Any kind of miscommunication may lead to ultimate inefficiency. It will badly affect the smooth running of a school, college or any institution. Because proper co-ordination of all the staff or leading persons need for a school to conduct various academic as well as extra-curricular activities to carry out. “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality” According to – Warren G Bennis.
The formal leadership also shows the limited flexibility. As this type of leadership is very specific in every activities there is very little margin of flexibility and spontaneous decision making in the school. Such practice in the school can be demotivating to the students and its employees. Because most of the decisions may take jointly, so it is very difficulties to mend again whenever the needs come. It will badly affect the school as well as its total

Here, I will discuss the main advantages of informal leaderships in a school, college or any institution.
Informal leaders can be anyone and they might not even really know it. The thing about informal leadership is that the judgement on whether or not an informal leader should be followed is based on an almost subconscious level and sometimes for superficial reasons. Informal leaders often spring up as the strongest or most attractive or most intelligent and maybe a combination of all three of these qualities or none of them at all.
Ambitious leaders often pursue positions with formal authority. It makes sense. Those who desire to lead want the official capacity to do so. Positions with titles imply a legitimate endorsement to lead. But there is an advantage to leading with informal authority. Informal leaders have no official titles and no authoritative positions, yet they can wield much
