A Self-Evaluation on My High School Career
High school is a time that many students dream about throughout their scholastic careers. It is a time described in the movies as social, fun, and memorable. I remember being told in middle school, eighth grade mainly, about how important it was to stay motivated in high school, and keep up with your school work along with all of the other activities and fun events that go on. In middle school I managed to keep a 4.0 GPA and was good about getting my work in on time, which honestly isn’t too difficult in those years anyway. I knew that when I got to high school I would continue to try and keep my grades up, and the warnings about ruining your GPA early in your high school career definitely impacted me. I managed to keep a good enough GPA to get me into colleges and to get me scholarships and opportunities I wouldn’t have with a lower GPA. I am thankful to the high schoolers I talked to when I was still in middle school, because without their warnings I can only imagine what my GPA would’ve looked like. I’m thankful that I didn’t ruin it my first two years of high school, although I did have a couple of mishaps here and there. I have learned from my mistakes in high school, and hope to be an even better student in college, especially because there will be more time to do homework other than a couple hours after work every night. I really hope to work on my procrastination as I get older, not only in my academics, but in everyday life. There are a lot of lessons I have learned from high school, and I’m also glad that I am able to pass on what I’ve learned to my sister and younger cousins who aren’t quite yet going through high school. I believe that as long as you have an idea of what high school is going to be; not just how it is in the movies, you will manage to come out
