My moms raised me with a strong set of morals, including, “hard work pays off.” Sometimes this can be discouraging, when you work hard but it doesn’t pay off as you’d like it to. I’ve always gotten the grades I strive for without much struggle. However, once high school started, …show more content…
Since then, I have put in over 100 hours of community service. It’s here that I developed my passion for giving back. I’ve learned many different skills and discovered interests I didn’t know I had. I’ve learned organizational skills, developed immense patience, and realized my love for working with kids. Moreover, I’ve learned how to create substantial conversation with kids, including how to approach tougher topics with them. This has made me a smarter and stronger person, with an improved set of skills to help me in the world after high school. I was given a powerful letter of recommendation by the librarian who I’ve volunteered for, so with that, along with my dedication to Student Life, I reached my goal. Alongside a senior, I will be the co-Bullying Prevention Senior Prefect for the 2016-2017 school year. I hope to use my experience with bullying and my passion for helping others to improve the experience of students at my
