Carpentry This program is organized in partnership with the DC Apprenticeship Academy. The DC Apprenticeship Academy offers apprenticeship training, or related instruction, for registered apprentices working in the construction trades. The training program is operated by the DC Students Construction Trades Foundation and is fully accredited by NCCER and the District of Columbia Apprenticeship Registration Agency. Enrollment Process Applicants are enrolled into this program in accordance with the DC Apprenticeship Academy’s rules and regulations. 6. Welding This program is facilitated in partnership with the Southeast Welding Academy (SEWA). SEWA uses Certified Welding Instructors to provide classroom and hands on training to be certified welders. Training lasts approximately four (4) months (640 hours). Specific training areas : Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Flux-Cored Arc Welding, Plasma Arc Welding, and Oxy-Fuel Welding. Enrollment Process Applicants are enrolled into this program in accordance with the SEWA’s rules and regulations. Stage 3: Job Placement Services for Graduates DC Water has established an eighty percent (80%) graduation and a fifty percent (50%) job placement rate for the placement of program graduates with employers. The skills trade training provider(s) is responsible for job placement services for Stage 1 Basic Skills participants who have successfully completed the required courses leading to graduation. To achieve these…
Welding There are 5 main types of welding process commonly used in industrial welding. They are; Gas Metal Arc Welding, oxy acetylene, Gas Tungsten arc welding, flux core, and Shielded metal arc welding. All welding procedures are important and useful for a variety of things. Welding is the process by which two or more pieces of metal are joined or metal has material added to it to fill a hole. Welding process work by heating the base metal, or the material being on, to a liquid state. They…
• What is means of welding? The welding is the processes which make the permanent bonding between the two or more solid bodies o the metal if the welding is not done properly the welding joint can be brake from the welding place and if the welding is done properly the metal can be brake from the middle or the center of the object • Spot welding http://www.taylorautobody.com/Portals/16/images/Pro%20Spot%202.jpg There is many type of welding processes 1 Gas welding 2 Gas shielded arc welding 3…
1.2 Types of welding There are so many types of welding process to weld metal or non-metals are given below. Welding is generally two types: (i) Conventional (ii) Nonconventional 1.2.1. Conventional welding Arc welding (i) Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), (ii) Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), (iii) Flux cored arc welding (FCAW), (iv)Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) or tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding (v) Submerged arc welding (SAW), (vi) Plasma Arc Welding, (vii) Carbon arc welding, (viii) Atomic…
Throughout the Bronze and Iron Ages, people have discovered a useful process, we now use today, called welding. Many do not realize how important welding truly is in our world, even history, but when anyone is looking or walking around, there’s welding everywhere you go. They’re many types of welding, with different features and processes used on an object or material, that are opaque to your eyes. Oxygen acetylene (OAW) is one of the most used welds compared to others. It's used in our…
Welding is an essential part of life whether people know it or not. Welding is what holds cars and buildings together and without it people would not be able to drive or walk into an office building. Welding is an important aspect used in many career fields. The demand for welding is high and requires extensive practice to master the skill. There are many different types of ways to create a weld. This career can by very dangerous if a person does not use the proper equipment and safety…
Welding can be very fun and empowering. Watching the sparks fly from the metals, and seeing the world’s strongest metals be made into what a welder wants for it to become. Welding requires hard work and a considerable amount of practice. It requires hard work, dedication, and concentration. If one welder does not pay attention to their work it could result in a considerable amount of damage to yourself and even others. Welding is the binding together of metals using mechanical machines…
This project is over a career that i would want in the future. In this paper i will be writing about welding. First i will tell you what welding is. Welding is the act of fusing metal together by basically melting the metal together. Welders can be found anywhere in the world. If there is something to be built with metal you’ll find a welder there. There are several different duties of being a welder. You must be able to read blueprints, be able to read a tape measure, maintain equipment such…
Welding is fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing fusion, which is distinct from lower temperature metal-joining techniques such as brazing and soldering, which do not melt the base metal.(Metal) Becoming a welder is a quest in itself because it requires less schooling but takes time to perfect this trade. My ASVAB/Interest or Holland code is Realistic, Artistic, and Conventional (R.A.C). “The first letter is R which stands for…
