    Carpentry This program is organized in partnership with the DC Apprenticeship Academy. The DC Apprenticeship Academy offers apprenticeship training, or related instruction, for registered apprentices working in the construction trades. The training program is operated by the DC Students Construction Trades Foundation and is fully accredited by NCCER and the District of Columbia Apprenticeship Registration Agency. Enrollment Process Applicants are enrolled into this program in accordance with the DC Apprenticeship Academy’s rules and regulations. 6. Welding This program is facilitated in partnership with the Southeast Welding Academy (SEWA). SEWA uses Certified Welding Instructors to provide classroom and hands on training to be certified welders. Training lasts approximately four (4) months (640 hours). Specific training areas : Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Flux-Cored Arc Welding, Plasma Arc Welding, and Oxy-Fuel Welding. Enrollment Process Applicants are enrolled into this program in accordance with the SEWA’s rules and regulations. Stage 3: Job Placement Services for Graduates DC Water has established an eighty percent (80%) graduation and a fifty percent (50%) job placement rate for the placement of program graduates with employers. The skills trade training provider(s) is responsible for job placement services for Stage 1 Basic Skills participants who have successfully completed the required courses leading to graduation.
