College is such a huge turning point in anyone's life. For me, it has been very tough to choose what college and what major I want to do for the rest of my life. Business management is going to be my choice of major and there are many different colleges that offer that major. It has come down to Wright State University and the University of Cincinnati. Both colleges have different costs, activities, locations, and offerings. After thinking about both colleges, I plan to attend Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Both colleges have a different cost to get in. Wright State and UC both have different costs in their college. Wright State is on average for an Ohio student $19, 434 while UC is on average $16,000 for an Ohio student. Clearly there is a difference in costs in those two colleges but it isn’t a whole lot. If I were an out of state student, I would be paying around $27,000 to live on campus at Wright State while I would pay around $29,000 to live on campus at University of Cincinnati. You can clearly tell the difference between both colleges whether you’re living in state or out of state. Since I don’t have much money, I would most likely need to apply for Financial Aid at my college. I know that should be avoided if possible, but I hope that the college I choose will get me a good job so I can pay it off when I’m older. I plan to save around $350 each paycheck I get and by the end of August I will have saved around $7,000 which should be a good start to paying for my college. Even though Wright State is a little more pricey, I still plan to go there because of the variety of majors they offer. Wright State and UC both offer a wide arrangement of majors. Since I am looking at majoring in business management, both colleges offer excellent classes for business management. Both Wright State and UC have a top ten Business Management program in the state of Ohio. Other than business management, both colleges still offer excellent majors. University of Cincinnati is ranked a respected third in the nation in Criminology. The Princeton Review described Wright State University of being “Best in Business” for the fifth straight year in a row. Other sources are saying that Wright State is a “Military Friendly” school and they recommend people …show more content…
Another factor in choosing my college was location. Location wise, Wright State is a little more closer to Findlay than what UC is. Wright State is about an hour and a half drive while UC is around a 2 and a half hour drive. Wright State and UC have a different variety of activities. I saw that a lot of popular singers and writers do a live performance on both campuses. Both campuses offer multiple family weekend events. This is when a student will invite his or her family over and they get to stay the day together without the interruption of classes or sporting events. Something as small as this could make a big impact to students, especially if they are homesick. A popular event for Wright State is a Halloween event this October. This is when all the students meet at the Student Center and they play games, give out candy, and get to meet up with new people and talk. Each college had their own activities, but I believe Wright State’s were more suitable for

Prof. Frollis, Bethel University differs from more recently established "on-line universities" because it was first a college and grew into a university and then added the on-line capability. Bethel University established itself as a well known educational center. In my personal case Bethel University adds to the credibility of the university and my degree because the P.A.S. program for ministry was first started at Bethel University and was known as the home study program at that time. In addition, the seminary itself was also on the Bethel Grounds in McKenzie, TN.…

The most important criteria that I have is probably the environment and campus life of the school. My biggest worry is getting to college and not being able to find people that I can fit in with, and the campus culture being very different than mine. Along with the culture, I also like a very small environment and class size. I feel like with a smaller student body and class size, students can connect better with one another and with professors, which I really want in a college. Environment can also include things like dorms, clubs, intramurals, and campus size.…

Davidson College as my top choice of school because of the variety of programs Davidson offers such as Davidson Military Science(ROTC), a major in Political Science, a pre-professional degree in Pre-Law, a minor in French and Francophone studies, and the possibility to participate in Davidson’s Dean Rusk International Studies program. Attending Davidson through this scholarship will not only benefit me and my posse educational advancement, but impact the college in terms of representation and thoughts that aid in Davidson’s diverse environment. We as posse will have the chance to bring new and creative ideas to the campus which help to not only the confirmation of Davidson College being ranked #9 in the Liberal Arts school in the country, but promote diversity on campus with the differing mental and physical ability each student possesses. Davidson college is my dream school due to the fact that it not only contains an Army ROTC program, which will help and prepare my progress into the military after college, it has my Political Science major and extra- curricular activities such as Patterson Court( Fraternity houses), political organizations where I can express my views of the government and understand the political world, it has Student Government where i intend to run for a leadership position, and most importantly, Davidson College’s Outdoors program…

Colleges are more costly than high schools. High schools are usually paid for by the state and local government while college expense is usually paid by the attender. The attender of the college, according to international student admissions, pays about $21,750.00 dollars or more to attend college while high school students don’t even pay because taxes pay for the students’ admission. The cost of college may also alter if the attender gets a scholarship. High school students are not given scholarships unless private high schools give them away but usually most do not.…

    • 4 Pages

If one were to ask a senior in high school about college, the first thing that would come out of their mouth is the word “expensive”. But why is college so expensive exactly? Is it the actual college education itself or is it the housing that is causing students to have endless amounts of debt? Students come out of universities with a piece of paper that says that they passed college and a bank account that tells them that they spent too much time in college. The answer is simple, housing is what causes students to graduate college with outrageous amounts of debt.…
