College Research Paper Choosing a college can be a very difficult decision. There are many things to consider when narrowing down the choices. Everyone has different aspects that are important to them as well as different schools they are interested in. Personally, I am interested in factors like location and school size. In this essay, I will examine three schools: University of South Florida (USF), University of Central Florida (UCF), and SUNY at Stony Brook University—SUNY. USF is located in Tampa, Florida, which is only about one hour away from my home. While it would be nice to be close to my family, I do not like the weather in Florida. US News & World Report has ranked it within the top 100 universities in the nation. It is one of sixty-four schools included in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. It is further away than the other two schools and it poses different challenges when it comes to the weather. Since I have lived in Florida for my whole life, I have never experienced the kind of cold that New York gets in the winter. Two years ago, I visited my cousins in New York in January. However, according to the university website, more than half of the students receive some form of scholarships or financial aid; and, students of Stony Brook University typically graduate with low debt compared to other schools in the country. I have not gotten the opportunity to visit this university, but my uncle went to school at Stony Brook and he said he really enjoyed it. The school has a smaller student body than the other two universities I examined, only 25,000 students verses the other schools’ 30,000-50,000 students. It is ranked much higher than the other two schools as well, so less students may be a good thing. Stony Brook University has both good and bad attributes, so it would not be my first choice for college, but I will not count it out just
