3.1 Explain why people choose to leave or remain employed by organisations and the costs associated with dysfunctional employee turnover
Reasons for leaving:
• The manager does not support or care about staff (key reason that staff leave is because they feel undervalued or taken advantage of. Need to make sure that leaders in the company are provided with support and ongoing training to look after staff and not alienate them so they leave)
• Pay (pay is not just about salary it is about other benefits like health care, superannuation, insurance, bonuses, annual awards, paying for further education) – staff either don’t understand the full benefits including pay or they don’t or they feel like they are not rewarded enough
• Benefits – referred
