I interviewed a nurse whose name is Rosetta Smoots and she has been in the field for over twenty years. She helped me to understand that being a nurse will not always be easy emotionally for me and that I will have a lot of bad days. She wanted to get into nursing for the same reason I do, to help people. This talk also helped me to understand that nursing school is very competitive, and that I will need to work harder than I ever have to be successful. She said as long as this is what I truly want then that will not be problem for me. When I asked her about her intentions when going into nursing she said something that is very important to me. She said “Do not go into nursing for the money, if you do it for the money you will be miserable. Do it because you have a passion for helping people. If you do that then the good days will outweigh the bad and you will always love your job.” She said it took her the hard way to learn that important lesson. When she told me that is was like a major conformation that what I want to do is right for me and that I will love my job and the hard work it will take to get there. I gained a lot of knowledge about the job in general. It wasn’t all just about getting to the job but tricks and tips on what I can do at my job that will make things easier. It was tons of amazing insight and at times it was even a little overwhelming. I felt amazing during the interview because I was able to talk and connect with somebody who had the same…
