Dr. and fellow Colleagues: For myself it has been a long road, but I can honestly said that over these past ten weeks I start to realized what does a Nurse Practitioner responsibility will be when I take over my own patient load. I gave thank you to my preceptor in this class since he spends many hours explaining what my role will be in near future. I feel scare, but I had the same feeling when I finish my first nursing education as Register Nurse. I honestly believe that I met the objectives for this class and look forward to passing my boards.…
My Job as a CNA in a Nursing Home I work as a CNA, and while the job can be hectic, it can also be very rewarding. My first thought after I decided to get into this profession was, “what was I thinking”. After you get into a routine it’s a great experience.…
As a future register nurse and as a woman I feel that a have a tremendous responsibility to give back to my community. I believe that one of the most forgotten populations in our community is the elderly, and as a society we have so much to learn from them and to thank them for what they did in the past. I strongly believe that if I could make some positive changes I would decide to do them to influence some senior citizens’ lives and to change their isolation for companion and thankfulness. I would advocate for the elderly with our authorities and I would request a budget to build a clinic to provide preventive health care services for them. I would designate a budget to build a nursing home for the elderly that do not have a place to…
In terms of patient experience assisting frontline nurses whilst my mother was in hospital after a major surgery the task which involved transferring her to another bed in the next ward over via a wheelchair. The nursing staff and I were mindful of avoiding injury to staff and myself as well as the patient at the same time watching my posture plus doing manual handling procedures and guidance from the nurses. I performed the maneuverer correctly as I was able to advise the nurses to lower the trolley (bed) to the wheelchair height then lift the headrest forward so my mother is sitting upright before carefully moving her body onto the wheelchair in a one motion move by holding one side of her shoulders then pulling her gently and carefully towards…

In addition, the CNL, as a conduit between leadership, clinical staff, and providers, will improve staff and provider relationships.…
Access to culturally safe and quality healthcare is a significant problem for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Therefore, by taking a person-centred approach will not only allow patients to be directly involved in their care, but also take into account their cultural and individual needs. In this essay I will discuss my personal experiences as well the past experiences of Mrs Akajen which may influence the establishment of a nurse-person therapeutic relationship (N-PTR). I will also discuss and critically analyse how I as a nursing student would achieve and provide culturally safe care, and various nursing strategies I would implement to ensure I establish and maintain a nurse-person therapeutic relationship (N-PTR) with Mrs Akajen…

When I was a child and a lot of times during my adolescence I had several moments of indecision about the things that I wanted. From the simplest to the most complicated. And although it was hard to choose what to write or what flavor of ice cream to buy, I was always sure of one thing: I like to help people. That's why I chose nursing as my career to college because this was a way I found to realize my dream; being able to help my fellow man when he needs it most. Care, protect, guide and support anyone who needs, help others to face their fears and challenges, it is very rewarding!…
From the moment I step into a hospital when I was a kid and watch nurses and doctors help those who are sick, and I knew what I want for a career job, but for now I just want to make sure I am on the right course to become a registered nursing and if it is exactly what I want. The most important is to see what health insurance, dentals plans, and income. I have interview Ms. Deborah Priebe to have insight of what a nurse does in a hospital setting. I also provided negatives and positive outcome of this type of field of work. I had spoken to Ms. Deborah Priebe on March 7, 2016 in an interview to conduct research what aspects of the job has for being a Registered Nurse.…

Nurses are expected to continue developing their skills and gain more knowledge throughout their careers; the RCN (2010) defines this as lifelong learning. Two of the most fundamental contributing areas of learning are clinical placement and theory. Being able to link the two together is an essential skill; this is emphasized by Cope et al (2000). Focusing on these two aspects, this essay is going to explore and analyse the extent of learning in the subject area of personal care and the links to other important factors of nursing.…
I recall memories of my mother and I spending time together when I was younger. We talked about numerous things that led to discovering what type of person my mother is and who she wanted to be. Talking with her helped me learn who I wanted to be. I wanted to be just like her. The moment my mother told me she wanted to become a nurse, I decided that is who I wanted to become.…
