When I Came To America

I came from China when I was 9; we came with very little money. When we got to America it seemed like a whole different planet, everything was bigger and cleaner. I had lived in a village for 9 years of my life it was hard making new friends since everyone knew each other. There wasn’t any need of socializing to make new friends, so it turned me into a nonsocial person. My parents didn’t know a single English word; neither did my older brother and I. We weren’t a very expressive family. My family doesn’t say the word love to each other; it’s weird for us to tell each other how we feel.
