On Saturday October 5, 2015, I approach the bench at Walmart in Dumfries, Virginia. Before I sat down on the bench I saw a little girl running towards her mother asking for a Slurpee from Subway that’s located inside Walmart. I heard the little girl mother said” Wait a minute Isabell, I need to put these groceries in the car first”. I was located at the front entrance on the left side of the building. I selected this particular place because it’s a busy place to shop and get to see all activities from different strangers. When I sat down the time was 4:15 pm, and I used my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 tablet to record my observation with a pen that came with the phone when I purchased it. There was an older Spanish lady walking behind them that wasn’t pleased of the cursing she was hearing. The lady made a comment and said” Someone needs to learn more manners”. The Asian kid heard her and immediately apologize for his behavior, while the other teenagers was still extremely loud and not noticing the lady behind

A Sign That Changed Perspectives Wing’s Chips” is a short story by Mavis Gallant with a very meaningful message. The theme I felt the short story carried was that even though many people have different views on what is right or wrong, they want to be respected and accepted for who they are. “Wing’s Chips” focus is on three separate cultures, who in the end learned to respect each other. I feel as though many people could relate to this story if they have been racially discriminated against. The story is based on young girl and her father from England who go to spend a summer in a rural French-Canadian Quebec town.…
