While conducting the check of the businesses, I observed that the large front glass window of the Dragon Flea market to be shattered. I immediately advised dispatch of my observation, and I summoned assistance from Sergeant Koch. I exited my patrol vehicle with my firearm drawn and waited for Sergeant Koch to arrive on scene. The glass appeared to have been broken from the outside with a blunt object. I did not hear any noise coming from inside, nor did I observe anybody inside of the business, and the objects behind the broken glass appeared to be undisturbed and still in place. The front lights inside of the business were laminated, and I had a clear view of the entire business through the broken glass. The parking lot of the plaza was also clear of any vehicles.
Shortly after, Sergeant Koch arrived on scene and responded to the back door of the business. Sergeant Koch placed his patrol vehicle's push bar against the back door to prevent it from being opened from inside of the business. Sergeant Koch then proceeded to the front of the business where he made contact with me. We further advised Fransen that the items that were located in front of the broken glass were still in place and not disturbed. Fransen, and his employee Jeremy Newton, searched the business for missing items with negative results. Fransen stated that nothing was missing. Furthermore, Fransen advised me that the business did not have video surveillance; however, Fransen was going to purchase cameras.
