However, after a whole semester learning, my harvest is more than I thought. The first thing that I got from WPC 101 is to write a correct format of email. Before the class, I did not know a correct form of email very clear, I sent few emails to my professors before. Next, while writing through out this course I’ve learned I have made improvements as well as identified some weaknesses. Through high school, and continuing in college I have been able to follow certain formats to fit a writing proposal helping me create a well-structured paper. On the downside I’ve noticed that my outlining skills have held me back. Without creating a nice outline it is hard to write any paper. By reflecting on my work this semester it has helped me identify what I can work on to help me become a better writer.…

Over the course of the semester, I have learned all of the skills necessary to excel in school and college. Some of the most important things I have learned were how to manage time and how to be an active reader. Before learning how to manage my time, I would easily get distracted and procrastinate but now I have learned how to get everything done in a timely manner. Also, before the course I would struggle to comprehend what my textbook said but thanks to the course, I now spend the time to reevaluate what I am reading to fully understand the material. Other helpful lessons I have learned from this class were how to take good, helpful notes and what kind of learner I am.…

In this semester RHET-120 class, I learned a lot writing knowledge. Before I attended to American University, I also had an image in my head. I was excited but a little bit nervous to see how was the academic writing skill would be. For me, I would like to think those several ways. Initially, I thought writing in university probably seems like high school, but deeply, more understanding and…

Through different lessons that were wrapped up into writing papers I have become an entirely different and better writer. While writing our introduction paper I had expected to grow as a writer but not nearly as much as I have. There are certain parts and types of writing that still need a lot of work such as a few various rules dealing with commas, working around fragments, and some different ways to tie my ideas into my writing correctly. For the future I will be sure to keep these smaller things in the back of my mind to be sure I do them correctly. Another reason College Prep Writing has been so helpful is by giving me a lot of information but tying it together in some cases to make it easier to understand and…

I learned a lot about myself and how I am as a student. I have established many learning methods that help me learn and remember things. Somethings that will help me in my college journey is knowing I do not do well when it comes to lecture setting classes, but something I can do in that situation is record everything going on in the class so I know I am following along and write my own notes in the margins to help myself. Another thing that will help in college is my will to get things done on time, no matter how much work it is and little time. To end my last English essay in my high school career ever.…

Something else that changed in myself and my thought process as the semester went on is the way I synthesized my position on each topic during our brainstorming time to include some underlying assumptions, values, and beliefs that I could quickly find. This type of self-inquiry helped my critical thinking skills and really prepared me to be a first advocate or an inquirer. I would also try to think about exceptions during our moments of process writing so that I could create the best position to start with and help prepare for the discussion…

Making sure I had an outline before beginning my essay proved effective. I had my thesis statement, each paragraph labeled on what I would discuss, and the conclusion. The outline helped to make sure my paper didn’t read as a jumbled mess. I believe all students should know how to write an argumentative essay before graduating high school. Chapter six, teaching comparison and contrast essays, is another one that requires organizational skills and knowing your…

To earn an associates degree from Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) one must take and pass certain classes in order to transfer to a four year institute. One of these many classes is ACA 122-College Transfer Success. It is a one credit course designed to help students who are new to the world of community college and transferring to succeed in the future. For me personally I was not so lucky. This is my last semester at GTCC so this class has been a bit of an annoyance rather than helpful, because a large section of the class is geared towards planning out one’s course schedule for their remanning semesters at GTCC.…
