Verizon has numerous advertisements that demonstrate card stacking propaganda. They over-exaggerate how much their coverage is spread across the United States compared to other cell phone companies. In this one advertisement, two maps of the United States are portrayed. One shows the amount of coverage from Verizon, which takes up almost the whole entire map, and the other presents AT&T, but it only covers remarkably minute scopes of the map. The rest of the map is blank. Below these pictures, it states that Verizon has 5 times more coverage than AT&T has. They emphasize the maps and the “5X More 3G Coverage” statement more than what is stated below them in minuscule letters. The concept that is mentioned, which is why this ad falls under card

The two magazines that I have chosen to analyze my advertisements from are Vogue and Ebony Magazine. The magazine Vogue targets the audience of male and female, but predominantly female targeting an audience range of 17 to early 40’s. As for the Ebony Magazine it draws in an audience equally to males and females. Ebony Magazine targets a much more broad audience than vogue, ranging from as young as seventeen to as old as late 50’s. Ebony Magazine also focuses more on an African American audience, unlike Vogue who focuses more on a Caucasian audience.…

In Killing Us Softly 4, women are the group of people being marginalized and possibly even silenced in these ads. These ads degrade women in the way that they only promote and present one body image that less than ten percent of women. Through the use of softwares like Photoshop and hours of retouching and makeup, advertising has literally created a body type of a thin, in shape woman with considerable sized breasts, a small waist, long legs, with no wrinkles or blemishes, that is considered impossible to achieve in a healthy way, which inadvertently can lead this to women. This causes the women viewing these ads to feel marginalized and ashamed of their own bodies, which can also lead to women developing eating disorders and resorting to other…

In terms of Pathos, Verizon's and Sprint's advertisements weren't really emotional. Their ads are not touching or passionate, they had an informative but playful tone. An attempt of pathos in Verizon’s advertisement would try to make the viewers upset at Sprint for exaggerating their coverage. With Sprint constantly saying how their coverage is close to big providers seeing the difference in Verizon’s commercial may cause people to become disappointed and angry. While Sprint commercial stayed formal just giving out facts about the service and the spokesperson.…

I believe that animal lovers, pet owners, and anyone who feels the need to nurture or protect others are the intended audience of this advertisement. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is all about saving animals and ensuring that they are treated humanely. Anyone who cares about animals could appreciate what they are doing, so it makes them the perfect target audience. Additionally, the ASPCA claims that "Animals can't speak for themselves, so it is up to us to do it for them," and "You can help these animals when nobody else will." Those words can be highly persuasive to anyone who has the need to nurture or protect others.…
