Trust is highly valued in our society today and affects all different ages. Trust is crucial in every relationship whether it is a friendship, romantic or family relationship: “If you cannot trust in anything, life becomes intolerable—a constant battle against paranoia and looming disaster”(Savage). Trust is the reason for most of the problems in our lives now a day. The formal definition of trust is the firm belief in the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing; confidence or reliance (“Trust”). Trust has different meanings depending on people’s experiences. Trust is similar to respect, which one as to earn to receive it in return. Everyone has heard the cliche saying “No on can be trusted”, but even though that may be a common saying no matter what trust is essential to our daily lives.
Trust in a friendship is very important because they are the ones whom have been there for us since day one and always will be. Friends are the ones to count on to have our back and help us through tough situations in life. With that being said, a person always wants to be able to trust another person so one knows if we tell them something they will not tell others. Trusting a friend can be them telling one something that is hard for that individual to hear but something that they have to hear.
