The place I would visit often when I was a child was my Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house out in the country of Hayti, MO. Going there had a great influence on my life because it made me the hard worker I am today. From the age range of a baby to maybe around eight years old. I would often go there with my parents and my older brother. The drive there was very peaceful.…
I had many powerful experiences during our field study trip to Cape Cod. It was a wonderful experience, and I learned so much in those five days. However, there were a few salient experiences I had that stood out among the others. These three moments combined cumulated into an overall experience that had a significant and lasting impact on my future thesis goals.…
America, it’s a great country. It’s a country of freedom. People all around the world come here for a better life, but especially the ones that are struggling in their own country, the ones that are barely making it day by day. Like most people from Mexico and Africa. The people from those countries have to work hard everyday to keep their families alive.…
I haven’t visited my native country in over ten years and not only were they extremely welcoming but they made me feel at home. They showed me the meaning of unity and it was about sharing the same culture, beliefs, values, and customs. I felt at home in my native country. All though the last time I saw people in my community, I was young and could barely remember a thing but everyone still treated me like they had just seen me yesterday.…

Bolivia is sometimes referred to as the Tibet of Americas.…
It was the end of junior year when Wieman nominated several people, myself included, to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington D.C.. I had never been to the East coast so I jumped at the chance to go. It was extremely costly but strings were pulled and I actually came up with the $2000 tuition. Although it broke my wallet, it was by far the best six days of my life. I had an amazing journey and the destination was nothing to sneeze at either.…
I was meeting people who had gone through hell and back to make it here while I got here solely because of my parent’s hard work. These people helped me explore my compassionate side by telling me their stories of exactly what it took to come here. I grew incredibly thankful for the opportunity to meet and help these strangers and began making constant adjustments to my own life based on their story’s incite. For example, starting sophomore year I started missing the school bus to stay after school and then walked 2.5 miles home every day I needed to. If I had to baby sit that day, I would probably walk them to school with me and turn the trip into a Pokémon Go quest.…
Africa, a continent made up of 54 different beautiful countries, which has very different characteristics and wealth. Cameroon, located in the center of Africa, is where I am from. I was born and raised there. I grew up with a lot of family around, but I am the only child of my parents. I am proud to say that I was raised by my family.…
I was born in Africa and moved to America at the age of two. Little did I know that that single move would cause my life to meet the people I would meet and the opportunities that I would encounter. Once I came to America, my family and I moved to New Mexico so my father could complete his Ph.D. in mathematics. There two of my three younger brothers were born but New Mexico was only my backstory. At the end of my first-grade year, my family and I moved to Texas which was where I finally understood what I had been taught by parents: be kind, chose your words carefully, and work hard in everything.…
At the age of Eleven, I left my village in India and came to the USA. I was very excited to come to the USA because I’ve heard from people that it is land filled with many opportunities. Right after my flight landed and I got out of the airport, seeing huge buildings and different atmosphere was a very new thing to me. I never saw those kinds of buildings or city life ever before in my life.…
I was born in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, the place where all my best memories live. My mother gave birth to her first child at the age of 18 then to me a year later, she hadn’t finished high school so she trusted my grandparents to raise us in the city while she went to work in another. There was never a dull moment in our grandparents home, we would play countless games in the water when it rained and the yard would get flooded or get chased around by our guard dog as my family would watch laughing despite my fear of dogs. One of the things I will always be grateful for is growing up in Ethiopia, my days were filled with happiness and adventure that I will forever cherish. Moving to America was a drastic change for my brother and I, we would spend countless nights crying homesick, asking to go back home.…
America. The land of the free and home of the brave. America. It must feel great being an American that can take advantage of all the freedom and privileges America has to offer. Citizens and legalized Americans are able to breath a different kind of American air.…
Who all has traveled out of state? Out of the country? Did it change your perspective on life? When I grew up in a town population of literally two, I was sheltered from reality. All my friends lived the same as me.…
If one would have to formally make a choice, Kovno would surely be the more superior place to live. One reason would be their relations with the non-Jews and population around them. Unlike Vilna, they were not commonly faced with problems, such as in the Polish rebellions of 1831 and 1863, when the Jewish population suffered from repeated cholera epidemics, and physical violence from their neighbors. Additionally, the shtetl in Vilna had a lot more difficulties, especially focusing on government, consistently having different people rule over them as that area was conquered many times. Furthermore, in Kovno there was a lot of success and useful materials for their synagogues, study halls, and modern hospitals.…
History of the Benin shrines and altars go back to the thirteenth century located in the Africa’s beautiful tropical forest region of South – Central, Nigeria Edo Estate. The Benin kingdom consist of not only the Edo people, they also include the peoples of Igbo, Ijaw, Yoruba, and Itsekiri that live along the Edo state boarders.
