Nancy advised she was conducting an inventory of Guhner’s property, when she discovered a piece of folded paper in his wallet. Washington was one of the first states to legalize marijuana. A friend of mine worked in one of the “Pot Shops” in town. It was fascinating to visit his store. One must be 21 years old to enter, but once inside you will see dozens of varieties of marijuana plants and edibles. The workers inside are much like sommeliers, but their knowledge is of weed and not of wine.…

XYZ has to avoid this occurring again in the future. XYZ likely wants to keep the policy in place that employees cannot use maintenance drugs, so they are going to have to put a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) in place. A Bona Fide Occupational Qualification, while it may be considered a valid defense to the employee protection of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, essentially “allows employers to hire individuals based on their age, sex, race, national origin, or religion, if these specific qualifications are considered essential to the job, or considered vital to the business’ operation” (“Bona Fide Occupational Qualification”). Therefore, a BFOQ would allow the company to inquire about drug use during interviews while protecting them against discrimination claims. XYZ Rehabilitation would be able to obtain a BFOQ because they believe that an employee working in a rehabilitation center cannot and should not be taking drugs in order to perform their job…

All states regulate the possession of dangerous controlled substances, but each is different when it comes down to their exact definition and their penalties for the illegal substance. The state of Oregon classifies not only the most common drugs like, heroin, cocaine and marijuana as dangerous controlled substances but also the compounds used to create them. While most marijuana offenses are no longer against the law in the state of Oregon, there are plenty of other drug charges that are considered very serious and that are actively pursued. In this paper, I will discuss the current drug policy in the state of Oregon along with its pros and cons. I will also include my decision on changing the drug law policy for the state of Oregon.…

The MN Medical Marijuana policy is well-intentioned, and a step in the right direction. If the goal of this policy is to provide relief to as many sick people as possible, then this policy will not be effective enough. This policy allows qualified patients to use medical marijuana in pill form, or as oil in a vaporizing device. Patients are not allowed to smoke marijuana or ingest “edibles”. There is no scientific evidence that smoking or eating marijuana is more harmful than other forms of marijuana (citation).…

One of the hot topics in the NFL off season is players getting caught doing stupid things on social media. More often than not it's a player or coach being filmed doing some form of illegal narcotic. While the NFL is clear on its recreational drug policy the one "drug" that players seem to have the most trouble with is weed. It's legal in some NFL cities but that doesn't make it ok with the NFL.…
