The company that I have decided to discuss is footlocker. Footlocker is an established company known for their wide variety of trainers. The company was introduced in 1974 and it was founded in 1988 as a separate business, known as the Woolworth Company. The company is a global business owned by Ken C.Hicks. Footlocker is a public limited company so the business information and trading is free to others. The meaning of ethics is an individual or company that has values that are morally right or wrong. The company holds legal and ethical issues to ensure the business is on track. An example of an organisation policy includes recruiting of staff, the code of conduct of employees, confidentiality and the welfare, security and ethics of the business. Footlockers organisational policies are mainly confidentiality on their data protection policy where they treat information of customers safe and secure. The companies’ highest concern is keeping information private so it doesn’t get exposed to the public. In addition, the company follows the computer misuse act of 1990 as law legislates against certain actions when using the computer. The way footlocker follows this rule is by encrypting certain information of their customers, and this reduces the chances of individuals from hacking …show more content…
This regulation allows the workplace to be more civilised and allows it to be a professional atmosphere. The company also holds strong belief that alcohol or drugs should not be permitted in the workplace. This provides a better working environment for both workers as well as customers. In addition, in company events it’s prohibited to consume an excessive amount of alcohol as it will give a bad limelight to the business and the individual itself. These rules are to help limit any bad wellbeing from happening in the working environment. The consequences of losing your job will cause near to all to comply with the business practices given.
The organisation complies with the data protection act of 1998 as Footlocker is up to data and reliable. Also the information that the business holds is attained fairly and lawfully due to the size of the organisation.
